5 Steps To Perfect Skin (for me anyway)

5 steps to perfect skin

Getting clear, acne-free skin has been a struggle for me since my teenage years. Now at 24 I still deal with breakouts more often than I'd like to admit. I have super sensitive skin and many foundations or tinted moisturizers would make me break out.

Recently I decided to give Mario Badescu a shot and I am completely thrilled at the results.
The enzyme cleansing gel is so soft and smells so fresh. It doesn't foam or bubble up like most washes, and I feel that it gives me a really deep clean because of that. It is great for taking off my makeup and getting my skin to feel very soft and clean.

The seaweed cleansing lotion is actually a toner that I use after I cleanse my skin. I have exfoliating cotton pads that I squeeze the liquid onto, and swipe over my skin, focusing on areas that I get dry or where my skin is combination/oily. It will really get down deep into my pores and leave my skin feeling clean as ever.

Twice a week I use the super collagen mask. This mask has been doing wonders for my skin's texture. It gets SUPER tight when it is drying, but afterwards I noticeably see a difference in my skin tone and texture, and any blemishes I might have had are greatly diminished. It really clears out my pores and allows my skin to breathe.

The drying mask is awesome when a blemish pops up and I need it to leave. I sometimes suffer from cystic acne, which is those annoying painful zits that no one ever wants but we all occasionally suffer from. Just dab a bit of this mask on the blemish, and allow it to sit overnight, and I wake up to a pain-free face and a hardly noticeable pimple. THIS FORMULA IS A LIFESAVER!

Moisturizing your skin is the most important thing you can do. I get so angry when I hear girls say they don't use moisturizer before they put on foundation, or AT ALL! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?! This is the single most effective way to prevent wrinkles and aging skin. This oil free moisturizer is amazing and includes an SPF 17 (random number) which is great for me because I don't like to be in the sun too often. It is actually a great base for my foundations or just for moisture on its own at night.

Ladies, PLEASE take care of your skin. You only have 1 chance to get it right. You don't want to be 50 years old looking like an 80 year old because you soaked up ever minute of sun you could and "forgot" to put on moisturizer. Thank god my mother has worked in cosmetics my entire life. She is 54 years old and has the most BEAUTIFUL skin, because she made sure to take care of it at an early age and be mindful throughout the years to keep a strict skincare regiment.

Also, make sure you ALWAYS take off your makeup at night and be sure to also moisturize your neck and décolletage.

Burlesque Fashion Shoot by Studio 311 last summer. One of my favorite shoots to date.

Shoe Shopping, Show Stopping...

shoe shopping, show stopping

Starting my burlesque and performing wardrobe. Got some amazing pieces from a vintage thrift boutique a few days ago that I haven't photographed yet, but I will soon. Shoes are incredibly important in a pin-up girl's wardrobe. A simple outfit can be completely revamped just by wearing a fabulous shoe. Granted, extremely high heels aren't practical for dancing, but they sure as hell look amazing in photo shoots.

Fabulously Fetish has become one of my go-to companies when looking for amazing fetish and Old Hollywood inspired heels. My boss at work caught wind of me starting at their site while making this collage above, so he told me I could pick any pair I want for Christmas. Deciding is the hard part, but I think I'm going to stick with the Delilah's hopefully in red or baby pink. SO EXCITED.

I don't like talking about things before they happen, because I am too superstitious to think that people out there with ill intentions will wish bad things on me if I put positive things out into the universe, so I am trying to humble myself and only speak about opportunities coming my way after I already achieve them, but today is a very exciting day for me and if all goes well, I will have an amazing opportunity to finally get myself started in this industry. All I've ever wanted to do with my life was be a performer and a dancer and a singer and be in the spotlight. It's in my blood. My mother and her whole side of the family are musicians and I was blessed with a gift that I don't want to waste out of fear and anxiety. Making moves and finally taking steps in the right direction and I could not be happier with how life is going lately. I spent a good amount of time feeling sorry for myself and feeling like everyone else was to blame for where I was in my life, but I learned to realize that life isn't a race. It's good to take the scenic route and just let life happen to you. Take every opportunity to do good things and great things will come back at you.
